Munsee Meats’ storied history began in 1957 as Tom’s Meats and has been guided by the “Appeal to the Great Spirit,” or as the locals know it, Chief Munsee, since. Originally located on South Walnut Street in Muncie, Indiana, in 1963 in with booming growth we moved to our current location and with 25 employees and 6 delivery trucks became Munsee Meats, Inc. in 1973. We have since expanded and upgraded many times over the years and now house nearly 12,000 square feet of cooler and freezer space and are one of the few USDA Federally Inspected meat plants in Indiana.

Munsee Meats is a member of Golbon, America’s premier food service marketing group, and we are proud to be under Total Quality Control of USDA Federal Inspection. All meat products entering the plant have already passed USDA Federal Inspection. Including our in-house inspection, all meat products are twice inspected by the USDA before reaching our customers.
Munsee Meats works to ensure a safe product. To do this, all packaging materials, processing equipment, and cleaning solutions are approved and inspected by the USDA. Quality, portion-controlled cuts of meat are processed in the plant under daily USDA inspection to the specifications of customers and NAMP Meat Buyers Guide. Each order is weighed and double checked before each delivery to help uphold unmatched quality standards.
